Welcome, you have managed to find me !!!
I am still discovering the world of the
internet and have developed a specialist site dedicated to my
number one interest CHURCH ARCHITECTURE. As I surf myself I shall
add further links from this page to sites I consider good.

CHURCH CRAWLER - A site for
ecclesiatical architecture enthusiasts.
This site is not intended to celebrate the
architectural delights of the best known churches and cathedrals
but to explore the other interesting churches in towns and
villages in the UK, Europe and beyond. It will reflect my travels
and interests, so expect (in time) a bias towards C19 churches
and churches in the south-west of England to develop. Click on
the link above to go to ChurchCrawler.

Also the link above takes you to another
free service, my church architecture mailing and discussion list.
Come and join a growing band of enthusiasts and let's chat
churches! There is a partner-group too just dedicated to posting
pictures of churches, called churchpictures.
MY LINKS
I offer the links below as sites which I
have enjoyed visiting or have bookmarked. The latest feature more
sites set up by friends with an interest in genealogy. Please
report any links which fail as I have not personally followed
these hyperlinks!
Architecture - General
- View
Buildings - the latest and
most comprehensive image site for English counties - be
patient as the site is still growing!
- Buildings at Risk English Heritage's listing of important
buildings deemed to be at risk from unsympathetic owners
and developers, vandalism etc.
- Castles Web-site
- Digital
Atlas of England Dr
Digi's's ongoing project to photograph all of England's
Buildings, and yes I said all!
- Famous Buildings of the World This site seems to be an odd collection of
pages, with a bias to the REALLY famous (Notre Dame de
Paris) and modern architecture. Not each building is
illustrated but has some useful references etc.
- Images of England Project begun in 1999 with the aim to have
a photograph on-line of every listed building in England.
This takes you to the search page.
- Looking at Buildings Launched in 2001, this is the latest
venture from the Pevsner
Architectural guides, and an expanding guide to
understanding and exploring the build environment. The
site contains hundreds of illustrations, interactives and
reference resources for all enthusiasts.
- Pugin On-line
A site dedicated to the life and work of architect
Augustus Welby Pugin.
- World
Architecture Catalogue A
large database of buildings around the world, much in
German, but can be searched in English too! Not every
building is illustrated yet and there are many places yet
to be added. Found an interesting picture of the
cathedral in Ascuncion, Paraguay on file though!
- Architecture List A series of links to other sites on all
subjects architectural worldwide

UK County Sites
Of varied content and completeness,
sometimes one picture per church, sometimes a full history and
multiple pictures. The GENUKI Yorkshire sites of Colin Hinson are
particularly interesting and include medieval churches, a host of
small Victorian ones in rural areas, and a whole host of chapels
and Catholic churches throughout Yorkshire. Simon's Suffolk
Churches (Suffolk 1) is a personal album rapidly approaching a
page per church, now he has extended his coverage to Norfolk too.
The Rutland site is a taster for a complete CD-Rom of the county
with complete photographic records of most churches and their
contents. The Isle of Man site and the new Cornish site are also
worthy of an extra mention. Two Oxfordshire sites have also
appeared, the first one belonging to John Ward has amazing
coverage and pictures that are clickable to full size.
Individual sites - UK
There are many many more of
course but these have struck me as particularly worth a visit!
Churches Worldwide
There are many more of course but
these have struck me as particularly worth a visit!
Other Church Interest Sites
There are also some other links to
sites of interest from ChurchCrawler's "Astonishing Cathedrals" Series.
Bristol Interests
- Photo-tours of the City of Bristol Several tours of the City Centre, Clifton
and the suburbs. Come and see my home city! This
marvellous site is the work of Dave Stiles and his good
lady.
- The
Bristol Index THE main
reference point for information on the city, Business,
Community Groups, Individual's Home Pages etc etc.
Expanding all the time. Another Dave Stiles venture.
- Bristol
Evening Post / Green UnCatch
up with the local news and views from the local rag on
line. Excellent letters page archive. Saturdays also
includes sports round ups from the GreenUn.
Bristol Rovers Supporters' Club on-line!
- Bristol Rovers Programme Shop is also now on-line.
- Join The Gas List / The Official Website Alternatively if Football Banter is your
thing, why not join the Gas List for up-to-the-minute
dubious news and misinformation about Bristol Rovers,
City82 and soccer as viewed from the world-wide
membership. Log on to the official site at
http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk, click on the gas-list and
follow the instructions. It is never dull. Never have an
empty mailbox again!
